Ronald Schermerhorn
Ron F. Schermerhorn III is currently an Assistant Band Director/Percussion Instructor at Hidalgo Early College High School. As the Percussion Instructor Mr. Schermerhorn teaches Private Lessons, Percussion Ensemble, and is the Director of the Hidalgo Drumline. Mr. Schermerhorn earned a Bachelor of Music from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Music from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Percussion Performance. As a performer Mr. Schermerhorn has been a member of the Syracuse Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps, Americanos Drum and Bugle Corps, and performed with the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, San Angelo Symphony Orchestra, and the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra. In 2006 he was awarded 1st place in the College Timpani Competition at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention held in Austin, Texas and in 2003 was awarded 2nd place in the College Snare Competition at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention held in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Schermerhorn has also been a featured soloist with The University of Texas at Arlington Wind Ensemble, performing the Rosauro Marimba Concerto and has attended the Leigh Howard Stevens Marimba Seminar, the Bob Becker Ragtime Institute, and The Aspen Music Festival and School.


John Schindler
John Schindler is a percussionist and teacher in Bowling Green, OH. He is currently studying instrumental music education at Bowling Green State University. John has performed in a wide array of ensembles including marching band, percussion ensemble, orchestra, wind ensemble, and symphonic band while at BGSU. He also performs regularly in the northwest Ohio area with the Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra and the Firelands Symphony Orchestra. John graduated from Avon High School in Avon, OH in 2001. He has also been an assistant percussion instructor there since graduating. John is currently the percussion instructor/arranger at Springfield High School in Holland, OH where he teaches marching percussion and percussion ensemble. John is also the assistant percussion director and arranger for Wauseon High School in Wauseon, OH where he currently teaches marching/pit percussion and concert percussion ensemble. John teaches percussion lessons in and around northwest Ohio. John is also affiliated with the Percussive Arts Society and the Ohio Music Education Association.


Derek Schletzer
Derek received his formal education at Middle Tennessee State University. While attending MTSU, Derek was a member of the “Band of Blue” Marching Band, the Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, and the 1996 PASIC Indoor Snare Line. Derek began his drum corps experience as a member of the snare line with the Canton Bluecoats in 1997 and 1998. Derek also served on the percussion staff with the Bluecoats in 1999. Derek’s winter percussion involvement began as an inaugural member of the 3 time WGI Percussion World Champions Father Ryan Winter Drumline. Derek was also a member of the snare line with Music City Mystique in 1996 and 1999. Derek has served as a battery arranger for several Nashville area high schools and he has served on staff of the Rosemont Cavaliers snare camps. Derek’s influences include his father Jeff, David England, Jim Yakas, Bill Bachman, Matt Savage, Shane Gwaltney, Dustin Schletzer, and Chris Finen. Derek currently is the co-band director of the Father Ryan High School Marching band the co-director of the Winter Drum line. Outside of his duties at Father Ryan High School, he currently a member of MTSBOA and he has served on the WGI Percussion Advisory board for the last 3 years. Currently Derek resides in Cane Ridge, Tennessee with his wife Kim and his two children Madison and Carson.


Bruce Schneider
Bruce is now in his twenty-third year working with northeastern Indiana high school music programs. Bruce is a former member of the Pride of Cincinnati Drum and Bugle Corps (1984-1985) and member/instructor with the Royal Lancers Senior Drum and Bugle Corps of Wyandotte, Michigan. He has instructed the percussion sections at Fort Wayne North Side High School and Fort Wayne Northrop High School. Bruce has also served as percussion instructor and arranger for Tippecanoe Valley High School, Bishop Dwenger High School, New Haven High School, and Fort Wayne Snider High School. Bruce is currently the percussion director and arranger for the Bluffton High School marching band and percussion ensembles.


Kurry Seymour
Kurry Seymour, Is the Director of Percussion Studies and Assistant Director of Bands at Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Kurry holds the BM and MM in Percussion Performance from West Virginia University. At CCU, Mr. Seymour instructs the percussion studio and various percussion ensembles, percussion methods, the Spirit of the Chanticleer Marching Band Drumline, and the Coastal Carolina University "Epiphany Indoor Drumline." He is also a past instructor with the Carolina Crown and has been a member of the Crossmen. Kurry is the director and founder of the "CATALYST Percussion Group". Groups under his direction have performed at Virginia Beach Festival of Music, Clemson University, Ohio University, and West Virginia Univeristy, and he has performed at PASIC and MENC conferences, and has presented clinics as the South Carolina PAS "Day of Percussion." He was also the Percussion Coordinator for the Sudler Award winning "Pride of West Virginia" Mountaineer Marching Band, and is constantly in demand as a marching percussion writer, adjudicator and clinician. His principal teachers include Dr. Ellie Mannette, Dr. Tim Peterman, Dr. Paschal Younge and John Rozum. Additional study has been with She-e Wu, Tim Adams, Paul Rennick and Mark Thurston. Mr. Seymour is an endorser for Vic Firth and Manette Steel Drums.


Derrick Shannon
Derrick Shannon is a percussion specialist in the Chicago area as well as the founder of DAS Productions. He is Currently the director of percussion at Alan B. Shepard High School and does many clinics and performances around the Chicago area. He has studied under instructors such as Paul Rennick, Adam Hill, Chris Pitlik, and Kevin Lepper. His resume includes numerous years of drum corps with groups such as the Americanos, Pioneer and also with the Phantom Regiment who claimed the DCI World Championship in 2008. He has also been heavily involved with WGI as he helped lead Pioneer Indoor to two WGI Independent A World Championships. During the winter he is a member of the Chicago Bulls Stampede Drumline where he perfoms at 13 plus basketball games a season. Derrick has become one of the 91 musicians in the United States to earn a spot in the All-American Marching Band. Joe Shuker
Joe Shuker has been involved in the marching percussion scene since 1988, when he was 8 years old. He has worked with numerous groups in Canada and the United States. His ability to teach and write for a wide range of ages and abilities has made him a sought after arranger for Drum Corps and Marching Bands. He owns and operates his own production company 2rl Productions, and is an active Percussionist in the Greater Toronto Area. Joe is Excited to join the Dynasty Team. Michael Skellet
Mr. Skellett attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, where he graduated Suma cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Music Education- Instrumental degree and a Masters of Music in Percussion Performance. While at Winthrop, Mr. Skellett studied percussion with Dr. B. Michael Williams and Dr. Jason Nicholson and was active in many ensembles including: Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, African Drumming Ensemble, Jazz Combos, Collegium Musicum, and the Olde English Wind Ensemble. Mr. Skellett is currently in his 5th year as Director of Percussion Studies at Rock Hill High School, where students study all areas of percussion instruments. At Rock Hill, he is responsible for the percussion sections of the marching band and concert bands. Mr. Skellett also directs the indoor marching percussion ensemble and 2 concert percussion ensembles. In addition to his work at Rock Hill High, he teaches 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at Castle Heights and Sullivan Middle Schools. His percussion students have won numerous awards in marching band, indoor percussion, and solo and ensemble contests, as well as participation in all-region, all-state, and collegiate honor bands. Mr. Skellett is also an active performer, private teacher, arranger, and adjudicator in North and South Carolina. His professional affiliations include: the South Carolina Band Director’s Association, South Carolina Music Educators Association, MENC, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He is also the Communications officer for the South Carolina Percussive Arts Society chapter, a member of the Vic Firth Educational Team, and a member of the Florida Federation Judges Association.


Robert W. Smith
Robert W. Smith (b. 1958) is one of the most popular and prolific composers of concert band and orchestral literature in America today. He has over 500 publications in print with the majority composed and arranged through his long association with Warner Bros. Publications. As a conductor and clinician, Mr. Smith has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Japan, Europe and Australia. In addition, he has been awarded numerous commissions from professional and school ensembles throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. He is currently working through Warner Bros. Publications on his upcoming releases of Inchon: The Symphonic Music of Robert W. Smith Vol. II and The Odyssey: The Symphonic Music of Robert W. Smith Vol. III, both compact discs of his best-known works for concert band. In addition, he is co-creator of the Expressions Music Curriculum, a comprehensive Pre-K through 12 music program written for school systems worldwide.


Andrew Snead
Andrew Snead recently completed a degree in Music Education at Longwood University in Farmville,Virginia.Mr. Snead is the Director of Bands at Fuqua School, where he directs a program which boasts over 25% of the entire student population. In addition to his classroom teaching he is also ensemble specialist for the Memphis Sound Drum & Bugle Corps. As a conductor Mr. Snead has conducted bands and orchestras throughout the United States and studied at the South Carolina Conductors Institute. Mr. Snead was conductor for the 2007 DCI Division III World Champion Memphis Sound Drum & Bugle Corps, he was also named Drum Major of the Year. He holds membership in MENC, Phi Mu Alpha and the Conductors Guild.


Stuart Spoon
Stuart Spoon graduated from Texas A&M Commerce in May 2002. He has performed with such groups as UTA, Texas A&M Commerce, Lone Star Drum and Bugle Corps and Surround Sound indoor drumline. In 2000 Mr. Spoon was a part of the award-winning Texas A&M Commerce percussion ensemble, which won the call for tapes at the 2000 Percussive Arts Society and placed second in the drumline competition. Mr. Spoon has been involved in the drum corps activity since 1993; he has been with the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps from Milwaukee, WI, for over half a decade. Stuart has studied with such teachers as Dr. Brian West, Kenyan Wiley, Paul Rennick, Michael Varner and Mickey Hartzog. This summer he takes on the role of Percussion Caption Head for the Pioneer. He is currently at Arlington Lamar School District as the Percussion Director for the network, and has also worked with the drumline at Texas Christian University. This is his 4th year with the Pride of Lamar.


Mike Stevens
Winston Churchill High School Percussion TeacherMr. Mike Stevens is currently the Director of Percussion at Winston Churchill H.S. in San Antonio, TX. He holds a Bachelor of Music Theory/Composition/Percussion Degree from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, where he graduated with Cum Laude honors. Mr. Stevens has been a Principal Percussionist with the UL Wind Ensemble and Orchestra and an Extra Percussionist with the Acadiana Symphony. From 1986 to 1991, Mike was a marching member of the Spartans, Blue Devils and Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps. He was on the percussion staff of the Cadets from 92-95, Caption Head at the Blue Knights 98-00, and was the Marching Percussion Coordinator/Arranger at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette.

Mike has taught numerous high school bands throughout the country, including Mt. Carmel HS in San Diego, CA, Morris Knolls, Lakewood, and Allentown in New Jersey, as well as Acadiana and Abeville High Schools in Louisiana. Many of these groups won High Percussion in their divisions during Mr. Stevens� tenure. This year, Mike�s indoor percussion group at Winston Churchill made history, capturing the WGI Percussion Scholastic World Division title their first year in existence (and his first year teaching at Churchill!). He has performed and adjudicated at the PASIC International Convention and is an adjudicator for various marching competitions nationwide. He arranges and composes for various groups in the US. With Dynasty/DEG Corporation, he has an Instructional Video: �The Ultimate Quad Video�. Mr. Stevens is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the Percussive Arts Society, the American Society of Composers, Arrangers and Publishers, and is an endorser of Dynasty USA Drums and Promark Sticks and mallets.
