Don Parker
Dr. Don N. Parker, a native of Washington D.C., has performed with artists such as Ellis Marsalis, Marchel Ivery, James Polk, Mark Whitfield, Ray Barretto, Oliver Lake, Buster Cooper, the Arianna String Quartet, and Jeff Jarvis to name a few. He has served as an adjudicator and a guest conductor for many conference band and percussion clinics in South Dakota, Wyoming, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana, Arkansas, Maryland, Washington D.C., Texas, Missouri, New Jersey, Tennessee, and the Carolinas (North and South). He was a faculty member of the United States Percussion Camp held at Eastern Illinois University and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Dr. Parker served as the host and/or clinician for regional Days of Percussion in Arkansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Missouri and will co-host the 2007 Day of Percussion in North Carolina. Dr. Parker has appeared as a guest artist at the Augustana College Jazz Festival, The Univ. of Nebraska at Omaha Jazz Festival, DePauw Univ., Greenville College, The Univ. of Texas at San Antonio, the Univ. of New Mexico, The Univ. of Mississippi (Ole Miss), Tennessee State Univ., and the Austin Jazz and Arts Festival. He recently appeared at the Columbia Basin Jazz Festival in Pasco, Washington. Don has performed with the modern American music group out of St. Louis, Synchronia, and the St. Louis Brass Band. For the past four years, Dr. Parker performed with African American Jazz Caucus Big Band at the International Association for Jazz Education Annual Conference. Dr. Parker currently performs contemporary and traditional chamber literature with his trumpet/percussion duo, Double Take, which has a self-titled CD through PL Productions and his jazz vibes and piano duo, The Haydon/Parker Duo, which has a CD on the ACA Digital Recording Label, entitled “My Foolish Heart”. Dr. Parker is also the principal percussionist with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra. Prior to his appointment at Fayetteville State University as Assistant Professor of Music (Percussion), he held positions at Univ. of Missouri - St. Louis, Chadron State College (Nebraska) and the Univ. of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Dr. Parker has a B.M. in Performance and Music Business from DePauw Univ. and a M.M. and D.M.A. in Percussion Performance from the Univ. of Texas in Austin. Many of the activities Dr. Parker has undertaken have been supported by his endorsements from Sabian Cymbals, Sonor Drums, Mike Balter Mallets, Calato Regal Tip Sticks, Remo World Percussion, LP Music Group, and Ross Mallet Instruments.


Tim Pence
Tim Pence currently serves as Percussion Caption Head for Elements Indoor Performance Ensemble from Frazeysburg, Ohio. Tim is also serves as President on the Board of Directors for Elements Youth Organization. Tim’s summer and fall responsibilities include working as the Program Coordinator for the Ridgewood High School Percussion Ensemble in West Lafayette, Ohio and under Tim's direction, his groups have never received anything less than a Superior rating at an OMEA sanctioned event. He also works as the Clinics Coordinator for Ridgewood where he organizes yearly clinics with some of the top names in the marching percussion industry. Tim is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and in 2005 he served as a member for the PASIC Marching Percussion Committee. Tim is and artist for and endorsed by Dynasty USA, Innovative Percussion, Evans Drumheads and HQ Products. He and his wife, Mandi reside in West Lafayette, Ohio with their daughter, Graisyn.


Ken "Ace" Peterson
Ken Petersen has been a lead bugle/trumpet player for over 55 years, primarily in drum and bugle corps. In 1950, Mr. Petersen joined the legendary Geneva Appleknockers Senior Drum Corps' lead soprano line. For the next 14 years he made his name as one of the best soloist in drum corps, belting out swinging solos from the field and all the way to Carnegie Hall during one of the corps' famous winter concerts. After the senior corps disbanded in 1964 the Appleknockers formed a junior corps and Ken Petersen was named director and horn instructor. He remained with the junior corps in various capacities until 1976. A brief six-year "retirement" during which he played only occasional engagements ended quickly as the Appleknockers Senior Corps reformed for five years.
In 1990, at the age of 60, Mr. Petersen returned to the marching field in competition with the Empire Statesmen of Rochester, New York. In 1991, as part of the lead line, he helped the Statesmen win the first of several DCA World Championships. It was during this time that Ken Petersen acquired his Dynasty horn, which he has played ever since.
After leaving the competition field in 1993,the following year [1994], he joined the Mighty S t. Joe's Alumni Corps and still plays with the Corp. Mr. Petersen joined a group called the Ghost Riders Mini Corps and they also won a World Championship in 2001. He has been with them for 9 years and playing on a Dynasty horn.
Now, at the age of 72 [73 in April], Mr. Petersen does not plan to slow down. He still plays regularly with Mighty St Joes, The Ghost Riders, and various jazz and concert bands around the Rochester, N.Y. area. His 2004 plans are to play with Mighty St Joes Alumni Corps and the Ghost Rider Mini Corps. And once again, hell be playing on a Dynasty.



Timm Pieper
Timm is a German arranger, educator and performer. He holds Marching Percusion Clinics throughout Europe and currently works with 4 German drumlines as Percussion Instructor. Timm teaches drumset & percussion at a music school and performs with two bands as a drummer. Also Timm is one of the founders of marchingmusic.de, Germany’s biggest music publisher for drum corps and marching band arrangements. In addition to his arranging and composing for marchingmusic.de he writes music for percussion ensembles and corps throughout Europe. As a percussion and ensemble music judge Timm judges for Drum Corps Germany and two other organisations. Since his childhood Timm plays Drumset in different Youth and School Orchestras and gets lessions in piano and aural training. At the age of 16 Timm started working with the local Percussion Group in his hometown Diepholz as instructor and arranger. Some years later as drumlins became interested in his work Timm began to hold clinics and workshops all around northern Germany. After finishing school, Timm studied audio engineering and graduated in 1997. During this period of time his work with drum corps and marching bands also increased so in 1998 Timm and a friend and musician decided to open marchingmusic.de to publish their own arrangements. After ten years of business, machingmusic.de is the biggest German publishing company for marching band and drum corps music. In addition to his work as an arranger, Timm does some mixing jobs as an audio engeneer and plays drums in a gala band and in a Toto cover band. As the director of band music in the N.M.V. (northern Geman music association) he works out courses of instruction and plans musical further trainings. Jeremy R. Pratchard
Jeremy Pratchard is the Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Arkansas. A native Oklahoman, Mr. Pratchard received his Bachelor of Music Education from The University of Oklahoma and his Master of Music in Percussion Performance from Texas Tech University. In the capacity of Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, he assists in the direction of the Razorback Marching Band, directs the Lady Hogwild Basketball and Volleyball bands, and the Concert Band. In addition to his band duties, he also assists with instruction of percussion majors in the U of A Percussion Studio, and directs the University of Arkansas Steel Drum Band, “Steel Pandemonium!” Prior to joining the faculty of the University of Arkansas, he taught at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas where he served as Assistant Director of Bands and Director of Marching Percussion. At Texas Tech, he assisted in the direction of “The Goin’ Band from Raiderland”, the 1999 recipient of the highest honor for collegiate marching bands, The Sudler Trophy. He also directed the volleyball band and co- directed the “Court Jesters” basketball band and Spring concert band. As the Director of Marching Percussion, he was responsible for the coordination and instruction of the Marching Percussion section. In addition to his band duties at Texas Tech, he also taught History of Jazz and Music Appreciation. He continues to be involved in the marching percussion activity. His marching percussion arrangements have been performed by several high schools in Texas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, as well as The University of Oklahoma, Texas Tech University, and Central Michigan University. Mr. Pratchard has remained active in percussion performance, serving as a member of the percussion sections of the North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, the Midland/Odessa Symphony Orchestra, and the Texas Tech Faculty Chamber Ensemble. He also played lead steel pan for the Texas Tech University Steel Band “Apocalypso Now”, performing at the Percussive Arts Society National Conventions in Orlando and Dallas, and the Texas Music Educators Association conventions in San Antonio. Mr. Pratchard has served as a marching band/percussion clinician and adjudicator throughout Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. His professional and honorary organization affiliations include Percussive Arts Society, Kappa Kappa Psi, Tau Beta Sigma, Phi Mu Alpha, and Pi Kappa Lambda. Mr. Pratchard is an Educational Endorser for Pro•Mark drumsticks and mallets and Dynasty USA.
